From Monday 25 February 2013, GoldLinQ will begin underground services upgrades, installations and traffic signal works across Elizabeth Avenue, Broadbeach. These works are anticipated to take 18 weeks to complete, weather permitting.
To facilitate construction the Elizabeth Avenue Gold Coast Highway intersection will be closed for six weeks.
Traffic changes: Phase 1(6 weeks)
- Elizabeth Avenue Gold Coast Highway intersection will be closed.
- Northbound and southbound detours will be available via Victoria Avenue.
- Temporary single lane closures may occur northbound and southbound on the Gold Coast Highway between 7:00am and 5:00pm.
- Reduced Elizabeth Avenue speed limit to 50 km/h.
- Reduced Gold Coast Highway speed limit to 60 km/h.
- Pedestrian access routes will be maintained around the construction area. Temporary footpath closures near the active work area will occur and alternative routes will be signed.
- Traffic signals will be switched.
Traffic changes: Phase 2 (12 weeks)
- Elizabeth Avenue Gold Coast Highway intersection will be left in left out only.
- Temporary single lane closures may occur northbound and southbound on the Gold Coast Highway between 9:00am and 3:00pm.
- Reduced Elizabeth Avenue speed limit to 50 km/h.
- Reduced Gold Coast Highway speed limit to 60 km/h.
- Pedestrian access routes will be maintained around the construction area. Temporary footpath closures near the active work area will occur and alternative routes will be signed.
